Based on what I read last night on @steemitblog, these new logos represent the site, Steemit, not the blockchain technology, STEEM. These new logos are protected by intellectual copyright laws so without permission, you wouldn’t be able to legally reproduce, sell or distribute anything. The STEEM logo is Creative Commons, so that is still free to use.

Thanks for the comment. I fully appreciate that #Steem (the cryptocurrency) is totally separate from #Steemit (the blogging site) and the two are totally different entities. What I am trying to understand is how we in the Community can promote #Steemit without violating any copyrights and infringements. It would be great to get some definitive guidelines from #Steemit so we can all work to the same procedures as to what we can and cannot do without upsetting anyone. How can we promote #Steemit if we cannot reproduce the logo? Stephen
