I use sony vegas for video editing if thats what your looking for, and you can add multi layer tracks in there. With audio mixing though if your looking to just add your vocal to an instrumental or audio recording, you can download and use sonar7 or Calkwalk . You might need some youtube tutorial on how to do it all exactly, but its pretty simple once you get going.

Thanks so much lovely, I am so sorry I missed this the other day and it has taken me so long to get back to you. I will really need to check these out and figure out how to do it, because I need to mix the video and audio from my video and then add backing music only. This is way out of my wheelhouse, hence my acapella renditions of everything - might take some time but I will get there. Thanks so much for all your help I really appreciate it :)
