It's much, much healthier for the kids to learn to only spend money that they have earned already. Kids need to be taught the value of money. Getting used to running up credit card debt that will Daddy pay off is the wrong lesson. <\/p>\n<p>It is an extremely important life lesson to learn to keep your wants in check. Buy now, pay later is the root of many evils of today's society. Economic growth in the last few decades is a result of growing consumer debt in the West. It has masked the growing income and wealth inequality and allowed the problem to fester. It can get ugly when the debt bubble bursts. So, I'm definitely against giving a child a credit card. A large number of adults have problems using credit cards right.
