South Africa has no controls really.

It boils down to what law and order you have and our police force is useless and corrupt. They are not well trained and have been found to be part of crime syndicates.

The lack of work plus the poor education system doesn't give much hope so a large percentage turn to crime. The chances of being caught are slim as the police sometimes don't even respond to emergency calls.

This has put pressure on guarding businesses and has helped this industry boom. In our area we have around 5 companies patrolling and making a good living from it.We all pay a monthly fee for this service and we are able to rely on them.

South Africa has a n open border policy so they don't screen who comes in and out. A stat I read recently shows a high percentage of crimes is committed by foreigners. If there is no work opportunities they have little choice but to turn to crime. Closing the borders would be another option.

Having a corrupt police force is not healthy and there is no trust.

" |
