I am an african as well so I am talking from experience and my study of so many case scenarios so just like I said sometimes it may depend on race or location and setting sew in african setting parents have already earned the trust of their children by providing and taking care of them as this is considered a privilege.<\/p>\n<p>However in some other societies I think parents are usually entitled to actually earn the trust of their children not just by being the person who gives birth to them but by actually being an actual father and taking up the responsibility to be called a parent. <em><strong>In earning the trust of a child by a parent, parents must put full trustworthiness in a child , also believe in their abilities, talents and prospects and encouraging them in the long run with their futuristic ambitions, <\/strong><\/em>parents earn trust from their children if they in turn should trust to their children to become good children by cultivating good habit, guiding and allowing them choices in things like career.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>So yes, parents needs to earn the trust of their children so that the children in question can be able to allow their parents into their life, talk to them freely and discuss things with them not fearing the outcome of discussions on things like sex<\/strong><\/em>, when parents have earned the trust of their children they know some of the deepest things going on in the mind of their children and it allowed them to encourage or advise them on the prospective right answers or right choices they must make in life if not when parents does not have the trust of their children then their children will keep so many secrets from them which may harm their future without fatherly or motherly advice<\/p>","appCategory":"parenting","app":"musing\/1.1","appParentAuthor":"egovina","musingPostType":"answer","appTitle":"Do parents need to earn respect from their children?","musingAppVersion":"1.1"}"
