Building upon the steem power has its own advantages and some of them are as follows:-<\/p>\n<p>- voting power influence - higher the steem power you have higher is the voting influence you have while upvoting a comment or a post. This also leads you to attract more followers because they know that if you upvote their comment or a post the more rewards they could earn.<\/p>\n<p>- Earn SBD and Steem power by delegation - once you have accumulated a high amount of steem power it can work as a multiplier. Which means if you delegate your steem power to the various dApps project than you get rewards in terms of the tokens if they are distributing and can also get rewards in terms of SBD and steem power. In simple delegating SP leads you to earn more rewards in terms of SBD and steem power.<\/p>\n<p>There are others benefits as well when you accumulate SP - you could help minnows\/people who just started fresh, sponsor new projects and etc.. Finally, I prefer to convert SBD to steem power because it gives you more advantage and an opportunity to earn as well. Other options like buying upvote for your own content doesn't sound interesting to me and leasing steem power is somewhat like taking a loan and paying interest. Whereas with SP you earnt interest. In your first option of converting 100SBD to Steem Power, 122SP only gives an increase of <strong>$0.01 <\/strong>in your upvote. Honestly not that much increase.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/cdn.steemitimages.com\/DQmbV8o9bJFBuz2bJcyF677TxMueCmBRP7AqPhzxquPiAWt\/image.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using blocktrades.us as reference for leasing SP, you will get around <strong>2062 Steem Power <\/strong>good for 90 days which only gives around <strong>$0.11 <\/strong>upvote worth with the current market price. Honestly still not that much if you are trying to maximize your 100SBD.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/cdn.steemitimages.com\/DQmQL2a9ttipUMqz6KvuxtGCFVguXp5gnpSQmNFAfVjLPmH\/image.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The third option: <strong>Get bot to vote your post<\/strong> to which I highly recommend of doing if you really have to choose between the three above. I know a lot of people hate bidbots but if you are promoting a post <strong>with a decent-to-exceptional quality<\/strong> chances are it will be worth it, <\/p>\n<p>Personally for me I see bidbots as one way of slowly converting your liquid SBD\/Steem to Steem Power. Money-wise you are losing half of your sent liquid token but you are also gaining an increase in SP with half of the amount you sent (Like if you send 5SBD you get around 2.5 liquid SBD and 2.5 SP [a generous estimation]). That is why personally for me it's the best option around as it will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n <li>Increase the visibility of your post<\/li>\n <li>Increase your reputation<\/li>\n <li>Possible increase in followers (people follow where the rich people are XD)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A 10 SBD per post per day is what I would probably do. :)<\/p>","appTags":["steem","based","dollar"],"app":"Musing","appParentAuthor":"vedvati"}" |

In fact I have been powering up pretty much all of my SBD into SP. I even bought some more STEEM yesterday so I could get a little more involved in Steem Monsters and so I could increase my SP.<\/p>\n<p>I have not seen great returns on investment for leasing Steem Power. Especially right now with the price of STEEM being as low as it is. The curation rewards you receive for your upvote are not going to be worth too much.<\/p>\n<p>The ROI on vote bots is still pretty low now as well. Imagine if you take that SBD you have an invest it into building your SP. As you gain more SP, you will surely draw more followers. Likewise if the price of STEEM were to go up in the next couple of months you have now made money because you were investing in your account instead of selling it away.<\/p>\n<p>Keep this in mind too if you build your SP you can then lease out your SP as a delegation and earn passive income off of that. The more SP you have the more you can delegate out and the more you can earn.<\/p>\n<p>I think converting SBD to STEEM Power is the clear choice.<\/p>","appParentAuthor":"vedvati"}" |

Increasing your SP is an investment. Unlike Option #3, that focuses on a bigger and more immediate gain in the form of a single upvote, or Option #2 that focuses on a temporary increase in SP, Option #1 actually increases your SP, meaning you will reap the benefits of a higher SP--increased upvote value, higher resource credits, and more Steem vests--with more permanence. <\/p>\n<p>Thus, while the financial benefit may seem small compared to a bot's single upvote, the gains from converting SBD to SP could add up in the long-run. They are also permanent, unlike when the lease for your delegated SP ends. <\/p>\n<p>Second, converting your SBD to SP right now, when the price of STEEM is much lower will give you more value. In this respect, wouldn't you rather increase your SP now by converting your SBD into SP at an advantageous price, rather than waste it on leased SP, which you will have to pay for again in the near future? <\/p>\n<p>Third, you are more likely to profit from your SBD if you convert it to SP than if you spend it to buy an upvote from a bidbot. It is important to note that your SP is always increasing. Not everyone may notice this, especially if your account's SP is not that high, but if you look closely, you will notice that Steem Power generates more Steem Power, which in essence is really just more STEEM. I won't go into the technical details of how this happens, but this happens because of the STEEM Inflation Rate. <\/p>\n<p>So, in a way, HODLing Steem Power generates positive ROI. In fact, as most users learn down the line, the best way to benefit from a bidbot is not by buying votes, but by delegating SP to them, which, ironically requires converting your SBD (or STEEM) to SP, in the first place. <\/p>\n<p>So, as you can see, if your goal is to make the most out of your SBD, the best option is to convert it to Steem Power. Steem Power is key to account growth and the more you power up the more resource credits you hold. This also has an effect on your vote value as the more SP you have the more your vote is worth. <\/p>\n<p>Why would you lease Steem power when you could have used it to power up your account. The whole aim is to get bigger and grow and you are considering throwing it away. There is no way you will make it back whatever the lease is and you are going backwards.<\/p>\n<p>Bid bots lose you money and it is as simple as that. If you spent $10 on a voting bot from Smart steem you will get a vote of $12. Sounds fantastic until you take away curation. $12 -25%= $9.00. You have just thrown 10 percent away in a bad business deal.
