My mother-in-law introduced me to this more than 15 years ago when my children were small. She actually mailed me swallowtail caterpillars with some parsley from her backyard to our house to let my children watch the stages. They survived being mailed and we put in more parsley and they all changed to chrysalis' and then emerged as butterflies and we set them free. It was great!
