I'm really happy to see a special place for original music. I like covers and sometimes they can even be better than the originals but I melt when I find a great original song. I probably won't be competing even though I compose because I don't perform live but I'm excited to see the entries for this ❤️

I would encourage you to make posts inspired on the theme of the week and share it with us, the challenge itself can really bring the best in us as songwriters, and if you have never tried it you are missing out!! I guess I didn't say it in my earlier comment, though I play a few instruments (not expertly at all) I make all my compositions electronically often over a few days. I'm assuming this comp is like open mic where you have to play live and say open mic at the beginning?

I kinda got that, but It would still be cool to listen to a few songs you would write with the themes we would be putting forth... :) so technically they would not compete, but it would be fun to listen to, and probably more importantly you would hone in your writing skills some some more.
