Oh, yes. They were happy to spay/neuter and control who gets the cats... But *someone* has to help people who want cats, but can't qualify (for whatever reason) to have them. Each time I bought kittens, (three times) I had to search really hard. This was in England. And I could never afford a dog over there - there were no cheap/free supermarket puppies over there. They cost hundreds of pounds, even for a mutt.

Here in Lanzarote You can get a dog or a cat very easily. Thats not to say the homes don't do some checks especially for dogs. Many people take them back to their own countries.
