Wow, wow, this sentence gave me goosebumps: "both understand the power of our minds as tools for understanding the world and seek ways to hone its power". That is exactly how I see philosophy. I struggle to meditate due to a lot of reasons, but philosophy in a way is my meditation, i.e. struggling with tough questions and arguments. 

I want to open a bakery with a philosophical practice in it. (I am planning on doing my master's and PhD in philosophical counselling.) The skills and tools that we need to overcome life's constant threat of change and loss of security, is lacking in most people. I think philosophy in a way can help people overcome life's challenges. I really hope to help people who struggle with this angst that life gives us, but meditation can help with this as well! Thank you for the powerful comment :). Greetings from South Africa :D
