I like it edited, without an assistant to always check and brush the model's hair it gets out of place, so light editing to get it in check helps perfect the image. Maybe a combo of 1 and 2 would be good. The top part on 1 is great, but the little bit of open area on 2 helps keep the "natural" feel. Like you said so it does not look too "cut out".
