There are mirrors now that are popular (for code reasons in public spaces) because they do not break, and others that when shattered crumble... all for safety. As a person that loves silvered glass, there is something lost in modern mirrors (most at least). Just sayin'. *Not to mention that the silver is not the same and does not wear away with age, or spot, like the old ones do. :P
