Highway Charms - An Original Poem

<center>This road is dark and lonely 
Its worths the lonesome to see my one and only 
I push those wheels to turn a bit faster 
Hoping for clear skies from the forecaster 

<center>Wanting nothing more than to stay 
But the life I lead keeps pulling me away 
Why is it so hard for a man to change 
When knowing its worth the rearrange 

<center>Sunday evening and I'm leaving out 
The road calling my name to take a new route 
The tears in your eyes highlighted by the taillights 
Why do I love these long, cold, lonely nights

<center>If I could stay, baby I would 
But I need to move on to the next neighborhood
I'll be back once the road has wore me thin 
Resting in your arms til I'm ready to go again 

<center>One day I'll come home to stay 
Leaving this life thats pulling me away 
Spending the rest of my nights in your arms 
No longer missing those highway charms</center>
