I can recommend porridge with fruits, but make sure there's no added sugar. Low-fat yogurt works well too. The general rule is "the more protein, the better", just keep the carbs low, or if you have carbs, make sure they're not sugar (that's why oatmeal is good).

I would generally advise against protein bars, they usually taste just as horrible as the energy bars.

I would like that, but the issue with porridge with fruit and yogurt is the fact that they're not as fast in the morning, as I'm usually handling my sons clothing and eating faster and then speeding off to work, so I'll be able to work long enough day without getting "negative hours" in our work timer.

I could try something like mixing yogurt with fruit in advance, so it can be eaten fast in the morning.
