I disagree.  I put sometimes more effort into a comment then into a post, I think it is totally fine to upvote it myself.

Also I want peopel to engage with my commetn I have better chances when my comment is on top.

That doesnt mean I agree with people who only upvote on themselves. 

But if I put a lot of effort into a comment why not upvote it. It can be the same work as writing an own post.
