@stellabelle thats quite a great post and can agree i have seen a couple of individuals with this trait or habit and some have it so bad they only comment and upvote their comment without even actually upvoting the post itself i could'nt agree more thats pure greed. i think people miss the point of steemit its about earning what you are worth be it comment or post the reason you we earn the amount we earn is directly realted to how valuable or useful our post or comment to the community hence an upvote 
So upvoting yourself to me only feels right in  circumstances  such as trying to get you comment to the top on a flooded post because you know its valuable and helpful to someone reading or the author of the post.
