# What is Jacobs Ladder?

Jacobs Ladder is an allegory that symbolizes the potential range of consciousness from the lower levels of consciousness (fear, hatred, ego) to the higher levels of consciousness (love, peace, joy, expansion, oneness).

These two opposing potentials are characterized by demons (lower levels) to angels (higher levels).


Angels are symbolized as white,  which shows the purity (and innocence) of ascending consciousness (light) , and with wings, which show the potential for increased knowledge and expansion; as well as the overall increased power potential due to raised consciousness. 

Demons are symbolized as red with horns and hooves. The horns and hooves show the lowliness of their consciousness (like animals; primitive), while the colour red symbolizes that they are in a state of fiery hell within themselves. 

 Jacobs ladder represents the ascent from the level of demons at the bottom, to the level of highly realized angels in the heights.

Jacobs ladder also represents the serpent kundalini; which rises up the spine and through all seven chakras.

Consciousness is "a mere seed that can be grown into its full potential" Aka: a buddha, or "awakened one." 

The ascension of consciousness into full potential is symbolized by Jacobs Ladder.

Jacobs Ladder can be thought to depict not only the range of potential levels of consciousness; but also the potential of rising kundalini energy.

The way to conscious awakening is [self-realization](http://yogananda.com.au/pyr/pyr_self-realization.html).



Self realization is the subtle realization of the essence of self (consciousness), and through this realization one comes to know thyself as inseparable from all that is: or one with God. 

Through self realization, one begins to become aware of ones true nature; which illicits a gradual rising in soul force: which is known as ascension and is infinite. 


This rising in soul - force is depicted by Jacobs ladder.

Where are you getting this information from? Genesis does not talk about colors, nor does it reference demons - only angels ascending and descending to and from Heaven onto Earth. 

I definitely like your explanation, I'd just like to know how you came to such a conclusion. :)

Which version is this?

The demons would be the angels descending.

I have used the analogy of angels and demons in order to explain the concept.

The lord meaning the most high aspect of existence - the  aspect of creation which is the creator (the creator cannot be found but through self exploration, which is to say that the creator is not separate from the creation, the creation being all existence )

Jacobs ladder is an allegory explaining not only the concept of ascension, but also explaining that God is not seperate, but within.

Even though Jacob was but a wandering Sannyasin in the desert, with but a rock as a pillow; even in this desert with this rock as a pillow: this was still the house of God.

Surely, the lord is even in this space which is the space occupied by jacob. Surely, the lord, the most high, is even within Jacob.

Surely, even Jacob is an aspect of the most high; surely, even jacob is the most high.

Surely, all things are a part of the creation, and the creator.

Surely there is no separation in reality, but only in illusion.

What we think of as reality is an illusion or dream; and the only actual constant other than change is the nothingness or voidness of the creator source.

I cannot remember which I sourced this from, I think it was the KJV. 

I disagree that angels descending from Heaven to Earth are demons. There are several accounts throughout the Bible which have angels visiting disciples on Earth. A demon would be ascending or descending from Hell. 

I agree with the rest of your explanation, but I'm curious where you are finding information about colors in allusion to Jacob's ladder. Are you simply inferring these colors using the symbolism found in the text?
