Indeed. Luckily most of my conversations on the topic take place without any mention of Facebook as the focus is on investing, and investing ethically. It can be tough to do that when you are talking with people who are creating content on social networking sites already though. Good luck in your quest!

Indeed, if your audience is already predisposed to investment vs the social element then it is an easier sell, particularly given that as a "newbie" it can be tough get traction while you find your feet. I joined initially when a friend was using Steemit as a platform for a Fantasy Sports league. Of those he recruited, I don't think many (any?) others have bothered to run with it.

Yes I agree that it's tough for most to get the ball rolling in the beginning - it has mostly always been this way! I'm a part of @acidyo's FF league and think it suits the Steemit setup pretty well and does help boost engagement / retain users.
