Well yes, he can powerdown now, but it will be 13 weeks before he can sell all of that powered down stake (it is converted in 13 weekly intervals), and by the sound of it (assuming it happens) the new chain would be active before that.

And i dont think he would re-buy more Steem. It seems he just wants his money back. Who knows what will happen .....

The majority of his Steem is powered up in @steemit, @misterdelegation, etc. He will not be able to power very much down in time. Sure, he will get some tokens, but not nearly the massive piece he has here.

And knowing how @blocktrades and the players involved here move, they would not have announced this without being very close to being able to deploy the network.

Also remember that when he does receive power downs, that will decrease the SP voting for his sock puppets, which could result in a reversion to 22.2 that locks his funds.

You’re assuming a lot of things happening on a slow timeline. Maybe Justin won’t have a chance to move his tokens to exchanges before the snapshot. It might already be too late.

As of right now, power down takes 13 weeks. Even if they vote the consensus witnesses out and get 17 sock puppets, thats going to take a day or two. Even with instant power-down, the price will nothing but dust.
