Very good @blocktrades. I sincerely appreciate you investing your time to respond. That means something to me. I also appreciate how you have laid out for us your perspective in this post, on why this decision to start over was necessary. On this ... > *"There'll be an official post tomorrow with full details about airdrop and timing."* ... since it is my understanding that Dan Larimer is the one behind this account, I sure hope we read in tomorrow's post what lessons have been learned over the past 4 years, on the Steem blockchain. And what, as a result, will be done to prevent these mistakes from being repeated. Trust has been damaged. It will take a very intentional and well-conceived plan moving forward to restore it.

I'm a different Dan, Dan Notestein, no relation except that we worked together on cryptocurrency projects for a few years. I stopped mostly because of that damaged trust you talked about. I consider people's trust one of the most valuable things a person can have, and I try my best to act in a honorable way that will not lose it. Indeed, one of my own ideas for future technology is to build a system that lets people trust each other more, and punishes deception. Too often I see people abuse the trust of others, but trust is also essential in many cases to effective cooperation.

*Excellent news*! Very glad to receive this word of encouragement @blocktrades / Dan. And thank you for the clarification of who you are. You have a ***lot*** of influence on ensuring we get Hive off to a much, much better start than Steem had (from all I have read about it). As you work through the coming days and weeks, you may wish to consider the "silent majority" of your fellow Steemians who will be ***rooting for you*** to "exceed expectations" in your efforts to bring your vision to life and rekindle some hope again about what is possible, as you take concrete steps to restore trust. --- P.S. Not to be presumptuous, but given what you have said here, perhaps we are like-minded more than I might have had reason to hope. One of my first [posts](https://steempeak.com/business/@roleerob/essential-foundation-for-good-business) was on *"The Essential Foundation for Good Business"* in which trust and good communication feature prominently.
