Ya, for sure, there are certain bots who are pretty clearly helpful and not controversial (bots who try to identify plagiarism, etc) So what we're really talking about is *a type of behavior*, whether or not it was done by a bot. The "pay for vote" bots are the most famous ones right now, but you're definitely right that bots do all sorts of behavior, some clearly good. And I should probably be more careful with my words: often I'm saying "bots" here when I mean specifically "pay for vote" bots.
