> I enjoy the development topics, the nerd discussions and the #circlejerk overall. To be honest, development topics are not great here, too. Unfortunately, steemit is not even close to Reddit and/or HN yet. I don't know why. Is it because there are not enough developers? Or because this kind of topics are not paid off.

I think there are a lot of reasons, but blockchain tech is quite different from development as a whole. Not everyone is a developer for sure. You have a lot of "users"/miners/traders, etc. Sure, some of us are developers as well, but I don't think that's the majority.
