Man, I hear you. I was around and active when STEEM was between 15 and 20 cents. I held on because of the reason you posted: I was sure the platform would grow and grow, and that growth would eventually raise STEEM's price. 

I did lose my nerve in early '17 and more-or-less "fright quit" cryptocurrency entirely. One day, about a year ago, I snuck a peek at [Coinmarketcap](https://coinmarketcap.com/) and saw STEEM at... 8.5 cents. 

To be honest, I panicked for a bit.Not that it mattered, because all my STEEM was in Steem Power.  

One of my big after-the-fact regrets is that I didn't buy more at that price. I could have snagged a (small-)whale-sized haunch for US$10,000.

For perspective, to make the point that adopting the attitude in your post when STEEM was *much* lower did pay off.
