As a Dutchman, I haven't experienced this kind of highschool. It sounds terrible, but perhaps it is a good preparation for every-day life in the USA. We have school types like the [Gymnasium](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnasium_%28school%29#Netherlands) which I was fortunate enough to attend, where I found only smart and mild-mannered people without even a hint of the bully in them, but which unfortunately also shielded me from some of the real-world arseholery later in post-university life. We also brought packed lunches from home 8-). Generalising from my own experience, the USA-highschool aspect of Steemit could be a bit of an unexpected culture shock for some Europeans. I at least didn't expect such chickenshit adolescent behaviour here when I joined. Fortunately, there are also plenty of pleasant people here that make staying worthwhile. Still, I share your anger.
