Wow, that is a lengthy comment. I respect your opinion. It seems like your overall concern is about difficulty and bad content. There are other apps in the works that give the user interface a better and easier experience. An example is SugarSteem. It is not out yet, but you can go check it out by going to @theuxyeti. The bad content is a disappointment, but I have to admit, I quit Facebook years ago because just about all my facebook friends had very disappointing content and they weren't even trying to scam the system. They were just plain bad. When I go to twitter or telegram to follow a major company or coin, the amount of bad content is out of control. It is so bad, it is extremely difficult to decipher what is going on. Steemit is no perfect solution, but I feel way better here than anywhere else. As far as the number of users. Facebook reached 1 million active users within the first year. Steemit is over 2 years old and has less than 200,000 active users. Facebook today has around 2 Billion active users, so we have a very long way to go.

I have to agree too, that I haven't used Facebook anymore, for the same reasons you do, but also because I found a lot of disturbing conspiracies posted as news or so called "truths" that have been unveiled by various "legitimate sites". Another point or points I have to agree with you are, that we, Steemit and the Steemit community have a long way to go. But I think in the long run, being persistent and enduring is the best we can do. there are so many people who are contributing top notch articles and posts, and while I'm looking for alternative news sources, I figured that Steemit is one of a few sites that provide me with the news and articles I need, and again, there are a lot of people who don't only want to read news coming from the same major mainstream publishers and therefore also looking for alternatives. But in the near future, there will be a great change in the way social media will be used, and I feel that Steemit will make use of the tech and the know-how other medias have been using, and eventually take advantage of the mistakes they have made. :) I'll be sure to check the link you provided and I'm looking forward to using Sugarsteem in the near future.
