You could be guilty of one of the biggest mistake most newbies make on steemit. 
But what is it exactly?
Yesterday i had a long conversation with one of the newest steemians who also happens to be a poet and and a musician, he noticed most of the working posts of our very own ugandans are actually just about the same thing. So he insisted that he should also do the same to become known and progress further with us.
Yeah of course being a newbie, there are some high likelihoods of performing better in some things more than others here on steemit.

Like you may know @fibra59 for his meme contests, (by the way i once won one of the contests), or @stephenkendal for promoting steemit.
When they ask you about that one thing that you add to the steemit platform, what would it be?
Alot of us have failed to define ourselves here on steemit, we think we need to copy other people to maximize on what they could have got just for ourselves, we tend to lean towards the occasional lack of what to write ***because we have no direction here on steemit***
What happens when you choose to teach people about java programming language? Turns out you attract people who are just like you.

It can take a little longer than you expect it to take, but we always should trust, it's worth the wait.
Attracting people of a similar mind can be so inspirational on steemit.
Having a group that always looking out for your next big thing is so important. People can always recommend others to your blog to learn about something in particular.
This is so beautiful.

You could give up on something on something that you have built for years only to earn just a few dollars in your wallet, it can work for your for sometime but it's not something that will take you so far. Soon or later people will get bored and turn their attention to people who have something to offer.
*You could kill your talents*, let that sink into your head.
So my friend, a fresh steemian is a poet and a musician, he has done just that for the past 6 years.
I would be a bad friend if i told him to stop all that just to attract a few whales who probably won't stay interested for long.
Actually if he had to post something on steemit, it would be so beneficial to the steemit community if he shared some of the skills and talents he had built over all those years.

Know your worth, and the people too will know it.
They will like you for it or worship you for it depending if you like that sort of thing.
Let people know you for something.
Being on steemit is a long journey that we build over time, you will always want to think about how it's going to be just about two years of you being on steemit. Which legacy would you have built over those 24 months, which kind of attention can you draw from people, and what people can be proud of you?
***As much as we all want some upvotes on our posts, We need to learn that creativity is key in just about everything in life.***
Otherwise for all the things we do, we might be shooting ourselves in the leg or rather one bullet in our skulls after a longer time.

Somethings can work against you after sometime, some carefulness.

So am not relatively so new here but also not been here for long but, as you can see you can always notice somethings that everyone can work on.

So let's steem on and not forget what the community needs from us.
