Russell Westbrook’s fifth straight triple double led the Oklahoma City Thunder to beat the Toronto Raptors 132-125 and snapped their 11-game win streak on Sunday night. It was a hard fought game for both teams from the first period up to the final minutes of the game. Paul George had 22 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals while Carmelo Anthony had 15 points, 1 steal, and 1 block. Corey Brewer had 10 points and 3 steals. Steven Adams had a big game scoring 25 points and grabbing 5 offensive boards of his 8 total rebounds and dishing 4 assists. The Thunder extended their winning streak to six.

DeMar DeRozan finished the game with 24 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists and Kyle Lowry had a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists. Delon Wright added 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. CJ Miles also had 15 points. Pascal Siakam and Jonas Valanciunas each had 10 points. Serge Ibaka only had 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. The top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Raptors,  lost only their sixth home game of the season. They are 29-6 at Air-Canada Centre which is the best record in the NBA. Coach Dwayne Casey, in combination with DeMar DeRozan and Serge Ibaka were all ejected in the last minute of the game for complaining to the officials.

The score was tied at 119 when Kyle Lowry fouled out with more than three minutes remaining. Westbrook take advantage of the opportunity and easily drove to the basket for a layup against Lowry’s replacement, Delon Wright. Then, Toronto did not score at the other end and Westbrook added another layup and gave Oklahoma City a four point lead with two and a half minute remaining. With 1:41 left, DeRozan and Wright each made a pair of free throws to tie the game at 123. Westbrook put the Thunder ahead by driving to the basket again and getting another layup, then hits a jumper with 11 seconds remaining to take the win.

Carmelo Anthony reached 25,289 points passing Reggie Miller’s 25,279 to take over 19th plays on the NBA’s list. Next up is Alex English (25,613). Carmelo is playing the lowest scoring season of his career. He managed to accept the role of not being the first option he usually is. This is the first time in his career that he is not the main option on offense on his team. He is only averaging only 16.7 points per game. The Thunder will visit Boston on Tuesday night while the Raptors will visit Orlando on Tuesday.
