Thank you @adammillwardart! I'm sorry to hear about your struggles with Facebook but am glad you found Steemit!  I had the very same experience with Facebook during that timeframe.  Before the monetization of the platform I was growing a decent readership and selling my self-published books.  Like you, the audience I worked so hard to build for years on Facebook all of that vaporized over the course of a few months. Every now and then I go back to my Facebook Author page and post links to my Steemit articles but refuse to pay them so people who've liked my page see my posts. I miss interacting with some of by loyal readers I made there, many of them haven't joined Steemit so they can't really interact with my posts on here. 

Honestly, I'm growing equally concerned with the quality of posts and interactions here on Steemit now.  I think the plague of spammy comments (many of them are left by bots) and junk content are really harming the reputation of Steemit as a whole. I hope the platform can figure out a way to correct this in the near future. 

I miss the days of thoughtful comments (like the one you just left), this kind of interaction makes you feel like people are really connecting with what you have to say.  I wish you well in your art!  I was following you a while ago but lost a few of the people I followed during one of the last updates. I've re-followed you and am looking forward to your future posts!  Thanks!
