Comedy has changed a lot and not for good. I don't know about the '50s, but even the shows we used to enjoy are no longer appropriate in this day and age. We're currently re-watching *Friends* (for my boy's benefit!) and it's sad to realize how offensive such a show would be deemed today... oh well... Fingers crossed for your story!
