Thank you, @charles1. Looking at hundreds of dollars at 'trending' pages and getting cents is a little sad :) Nice you care about Steemit newcomers like myself. 

If I may add something from my very short experience here. Your list of communities will be very helpful for many but not for everybody. Even then I think they still can find or build a community simply writing comments under posts with their favorite subject. 

If you really like something you will know what to write, what to ask, how to engage others. Some authors will answer you. And that way you begin.
