I have actually refused raises at my previous job and my current. I am currently on the max I will ever earn where I work now unless maybe I can be arsed to do the marketing, promote and then just overall take charge of the shop. The issue is that sure I get more money but then I deal with more people, have to rely on others in the shop to do a little also and I need to deal with more pathetic people... Did I mention I have to deal with more people? I do like doing the quick side websites since I can actually charge a nice lump sum and only deal with one person but those are far and in between except for the scourge that is this one thing. I hate her voice so much, I hate this other dude that comes into the shops face and... I get paid just enough for the mindless trash job I do. You just shouldn't ever expect more. If you do and you don't get it, shut up and then leave if you think you can do better. But mostly always just shut up. <sub>Typo here: the startup developer is ~~righting.~~ </sub> **Edit: I hate his voice and his face. My boss mentioned that hopefully, he does a site, benefit that is in my court so I can then refuse that work even though it would be wise not to since it would be a huge job and 100% my money but then I sit with trouble during and beyond that because of the piece of shit whiney prick he is. I guess it is nice to want more, but outside of people not really knowing how little your work might be worth it is also good to know that it is not the employer's concern that you have decided to have 5 fucking kids and now need more money.

Lol I feel the same way, once I realized a lot of the stuff I thought I wanted was just a bunch of kak anyway I was like wow look how much more I’m saving now! As any human id like more money but I don’t die over it, if it comes it comes if it doesn’t, so be it I agree my mental health is worth more than money I’d rather deal with an easier client for less money than a dickhead for a lot of money lol unfortunately you still get dickheads who act up and pay a little money too I just think people would be really surprised to know that their little accounting job that pays them so much ain’t worth shit in the real world were companies aren’t propped up by printed money but hey what do I know right?

Even the ones propped up by printed money might not need an accountant to they extent they tend to if they just do their paperwork correctly and automate, they basically only need them for some parts because of some law I think ensuring companies pay ludicrous amounts for some twat in a suit to use their calculator.
