I have told people asking what would do well here and I tell them, write about 'experiences', tell a story. Give people a reason to care about what you wrote. It is not a guarantee and it is not always the most valuable way to go but this style is what got me to follow you and give up votes in the first place. 

You are not simply writing about Steemit all the time, or how awesome the site is. You are writing about experiences you have in life. Like the fish in the flooded playground. That is stuff most of will probably never experience. At least first hand as we get to live through your adventures and their retelling here on Steemit.
