_**I've used a lot of cryptocurrency exchanges in the last couple of years - Sometimes they fail for some reason and sometimes I need new features that only a small number have.**_ [_**Trade.io**_](https://trade.io) _**is a new exchange that has recently received over $30 Million USD in funding and it's creators claim it is going to deliver the kind of features that an exchange might have in a few years time - in other words, this one is meant to be cutting edge.. Let's take a look...**_

At first glance this project appears to be well put together and the marketing style is polished. Marketing, though, is only skin deep - so we need to dig around a bit deeper to find out the truth of any new project.

**Trade.io lists some interesting concepts and features that might be attractive to traders of all kinds -**

*   Customisable User Interface to make long term usage comfortable.
*   Low Fees - No Deposit Fees, 0.1% taker fee and minimal withdrawal fees.
*   Eventual support for non crypto assets.
*   24 Hour response time for support tickets.
*   ICO consultation services.
*   Listings of ICOs and Airdrops.
*   A Liquidity Pool that allows users to earn interest on loans made to the platform.
*   Referral bonuses for life when introducing new users.
*   Custom tokens called TIO.

Currently, the platform is in development so I cannot give it a full review, however, the screenshots seen in the promotional material show an interface that is at least comparable to the competitors out there such as Bitfinex, Bittrex and Binance.

Personally, I look for maybe 5 key features in an exchange:

1.  A wide range of tokens supported.
2.  Low fees.
3.  Reliability.
4.  Quick support times.
5.  Support for ICOs.

So from my perspective, trade.io has targeted the right objectives and I am definitely inspired to try them out when they go live. I have already signed up at their welcome page. The real test will come when they have to deliver on their promises! Most of their promises seem possible to deliver with the right team and passion being present, however, I will be impressed if they truly do deliver a 24 hour support response time, guaranteed! I have had a few very frustrating experiences with well known exchanges where their support team just didn't act or respond for MONTHS! They will respond within 24 hours, but then typically not respond for a long time afterwards. So trade.io will need to bare this in mind when planning their support team's targets - it isn't good enough to just reply once in 24 hours - there needs to be a continual response to all messages within 24 hours too.

### Liquidity Pool

One feature of Trade.io that I find intriguing is their liquidity pool which is partially, though not completely, explained on their website. As I understand, users loan the exchange money and get paid interest on that money daily based on the profits generated by the exchange on that day. 50% of the daily profits are put into the liquidity pool and paid out as interest.

Despite this though, if the pool works it will definitely be an attractive feature in the comepetitive world of online exchanges.

It seems that Trade.io intend to regularly give away prizes and promotional gifts to their users and they currently list an Airdrop and a holiday giveaway on their [promotions page](https://trade.io/promotions). The current prizes are for short trips to Cyprus to a beach resort and to meet their management team - plus a one-off top prize of $100,000.

### Dog Token Airdrop

Trade.io is offering an airdrop of a new token called Dog for the first 10,000 holders of the Exchanges token TIO. The airdrop ends on the 10th of August and I have not seen any mention of whether or not the first 10,000 spots are taken yet - so get in fast if you want to participate!

Trade.io offer professional consultation services to new ICOs including help with writing whitepapers, creating smart tokens, getting listed on exchanges, marketing, planning, recruitment auditing and all other aspects involved in the process of starting and ICO. ### Angel Investing

Trade.io state that they have already received $300 million USD in angel investment for ICOs, inferring that they are to be trusted with responsible ICO investment. They advertise a strict vetting process and KYC procedures for ICOs, so this may well turn out to be one of their key selling points in the future.
