Until a few years ago we had that too in rural Germany. It was common practice to just build up a stand and put fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey  or sometimes wood there plus a tin to put in the money. That's now gone. Also gone is that people don't lock up their homes. Thank you Merkel. Never allow  useless migrants into your country. Never!
