Amazing, strong woman! I admire your story about this lady. Women always amaze me how strong they are, how much they have character, perseverance and at the same time kindness and tenderness, optimism and love.

She sounds like quite an amazing woman, thank you for introducing her to us, what a warrior. Really glad you have had some time out and also to reconnect. New Mexico does indeed soundly great.

I'm so so glad you were able to find such a wise person in your life and to be able to exchange all these important thoughts and 'rules of life' through which you could grow as a person, an artist... 

I'm all for promised to 'the self', so I truly hope you're marking your calendar already and simply claiming one or two weeks in which you will go back to New Mexico and all that is dear to you! Make the 'if I can' in the last sentence a 'except if I really can *not*'! ;-)

It is impressive how your friendship still remained so intense, when you talk about your mentor it sounds that she is a relative, very close and dear person. It is easy to see this respect and I would even say Love on your photograph. You are lucky you have had such a mentor who guided you and I like the idea "We are all students and teachers to each other" that can come only from open heart person, who is still keen to learn. 

The mosaic wall of the house and the ground  are amazing, it must be really hard job to plan the pattern and time consuming to recreate it on wall. 

Just the moment when I was looking at it, I recalled impressive place in Vienna with the place that was created by Artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, but I assume you must have heard about him.

I bet your mentor is really proud of you and was glad to see. Thank you for sharing such wonderful moment.

I think that is awesome that you have had a friendship with someone for so long. I know folks like my gramps had friends for life, but it doesnt seem as common anymore.

With my extended vacation and then work trips, I forgot about the Memory Project.  I need to get back to writing.  Once I clicked over to your page, I immediately remembered your last installment and your fond memories of your mentor (along with amazing photos of the mosaic house)!  Thanks for sharing.  It is awesome that you were able to reconnect.  Better than just memories.

I, too, have been busy, which is how I managed to miss this post for three days! Although I do not claim, in even the slightest, to be half as busy as you. Moving household across country is already a full time job and you still manage all your wonderful work, to be creative AND take a holiday! You are an inspiration of energy.

What a lovely time you seemed to have had and what a mentor. You are very lucky in her and she in you. It seems we must cherish those special people who cross our paths and to be open and realize how much they give to us and how much, they too, might be just at the place to want and need you. Really just a wonderful spiritual revelation.

I hope all is well with your packing and your endless production. I can't wait to see more of your artwork as well. Keep focused and grounded and happily move towards this next happy phase of your life!

You always do such great quality posts Ruth and talk about being busy! Wow, I'm glad I finally found time to swing by your page let alone several others. 14 countries, three continents, 12 months. At least 30-50 hotels and locations too! All that along with becoming "World Travel Pro!" lol and doing this blog of mine ....now back near my home town of Albany New York, editing and organizing photos, videos, and posts. Also looking for that special travel companion, and planning my next move....Eastern Europe or Luisiana...What do you think?

Sorry to go on about me, just read the word "busy" and how busy you are reminded me of how I too need to slow things down too.

I'm so happy that your trip to New Mexico helped let some steam out of that busy busy pressure cooker and was exactly what you needed. Spending time with your beloved friend I'm sure was more than worth the trip alone. You two look so happy together, great photo.

Speaking of meeting people when I crossed over from Florida to Albany I had an afternoon in NYC, where I finally got to meet Mike and Kirk...sndbox.
