Awesome post Eve! Thank you so much for writing it! It always makes my day when I see someone doing these things for the environment and spreading the word. So Panama will ban plastic bags from supermarkets this year? Great!! I wish other countries in Central America will follow soon. Its ridiculous how they always stare at me in the supermarket here in Mexico when I pull my own bag out of my pocket and say "no bolsa, gracias" at the cash desk... I am always the only one to do that though :(

hahaah that's exactly what I do now! =). We have to keep spreading the word and educating people. usually when I say "no bolsa", I also say why. Maybe they will forget 5 seconds later, but i will keep repeating it =) They won't ban them in the entire country though...only in Bocas del Toro

Actually, I usually say "no bolsa, gracias, protecto naturaleza" but I just found out its not correct :D so maybe they didnt even understand me :D but anyway, I will keep doing that and spreading the word about how conservation is important too ;) we both live in a beautiful tropical place with amazing and diverse wildlife and if the locals dont care about it, at least we should! ;)
