Reviving ceremony for key achievements in life

<p>With the colonization of the planet, one of the key things the colonizers attacked was our ancient ceremonies. &nbsp;These ceremonies were designed to help the individual move through the phases of life and also helped the tribes recognize where people stood within their communities. &nbsp;The colonizers replaced these ceremonies with their own to ensure that people stayed within the industrial structures they needed to maintain their own infrastructure and ensure they have enough slaves to do the work.</p>
<p>As we move away from these systems and decolonize, we now have to re-examine our lives and build our own ceremonies to help our own growth and that of the community that we belong. &nbsp;Being spiritual and physical beings, these ceremonies must reflect both as the merging of the two is a significant and sacred process initiated by Creator himself. &nbsp;Creator then passed that sacred process and authority to the divine and sacred feminine on this planet which we must also protect and recognize throughout this journey.</p>

<p>The very first ceremony performed is the merging of the divine feminine and masculine in the sacred act of love. &nbsp;This physical ceremony can result in a physical vessel starting to form within the womb of the mother. &nbsp;Shortly afterwards a spiritual ceremony takes place where spirit then joins the physical vessel. &nbsp;The spiritual individual is joining with the physical child so that we can use the experience of life to mature ourselves to become spiritual adults. &nbsp;This unity phase happens within the womb of the mother as both learn to co-exist with one another in the safety and warmth of mother. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the 10 months of gestation, the physical and spiritual are working out their unity so that they can prepare for the next sacred ceremony of being born and leaving the safety and sanctity of mothers womb. &nbsp;It is during this period that the physical vessel continues to grow and the emotional and mental bodies are starting to develop as well. &nbsp;The sacred ceremony of delivering a baby into the physical world has also been hijacked by the colonial system and must be returned to the divine feminine upon whom was granted the authority to perform this ceremony by Creator. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Once the baby is born it is now a physical child, mental student and emotional youth. &nbsp;The parents job is to raise that sacred being to be independent. &nbsp;There are three ceremonies to help the individual, parents and community to recognize that he / she is now independent. &nbsp;Once the individual has completed all three of these ceremonies, he / she is independent and has become a physical adult, mental apprentice and emotional maturity. &nbsp;Now it is up to the individual to build his / her relationships with other people so that inter-independency can be formed with other individuals who are also independent.</p>
<p>It is these ceremonies that the state and religions of the world want to avoid at all costs. &nbsp;Their job is to keep people dependent on them so that they don't achieve this level of development in their spiritual and physical journey. &nbsp;However, if the individual can over come these obstacles, then three more ceremonies are in order.</p>
<p>These ceremonies mark their growth from independence into inter-independence to become a physical leader, mental teacher with emotional wisdom. &nbsp;Through a life time of inter-independent living the individual can then gain a life time of experience, wisdom and knowledge to <a href="https://steemit.com/book/@wwf/graduating-life-with-honours-full-book-with-links-to-each-chapter">Graduate Life with Honours</a>. &nbsp;</p>

<p>When the community / tribe recognizes the life long achievements of specific individuals and their ability to keep the peace, keep the knowledge and be an elder, then a special ceremony is held to show the transition to being one who lives in wholeness between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. &nbsp;It is this phase and ceremony that shows how spirit has matured through this whole physical process to become a spiritual adult. &nbsp;This is a very special and sacred ceremony to recognize the achievement of spiritual maturity and adulthood, which means that we also are preparing our journey to be a spiritual apprentice when we are finished with this physical experience. &nbsp;This whole physical life is preparing us for the next phase of our spiritual life and it is time to prepare for the most sacred ceremony of all: &nbsp;Death of the vessel. &nbsp;During this ceremony, spirit detaches from the physical vessel and returns to the Spiritual Realm, while the body goes through its own ceremony to return to Mother Earth.</p>

<p>When we put this whole process together, we can see that there is a lot of work to do and many milestones to accomplish in order for us to Graduate Life with Honours and prepare for the next phase of our spiritual development. &nbsp;This is ALL for our spiritual health and growth. &nbsp;<strong>We should never loose focus of that objective. </strong>&nbsp;That is why all the physical 'stuff' does not really matter, especially when we are focused on spiritual growth. &nbsp;That is why the state, corporations and others work really hard to distract us with consumerism, addictions and other physical distractions. &nbsp;They work hard to ensure that we don't complete this process. &nbsp;</p>
<p>If we manage to make our own ceremonies to help with this process, it will help all involved to keep focused on the spiritual intent of our life here on Mother Earth. &nbsp;This process was started by Creator and for a very specific purpose. &nbsp;I believe that if we don't get it right this time around, we do it again and again until we get it right. &nbsp;</p>
<p>I've dedicated this life time to getting it right this time. &nbsp;I'm willing to forgo the wealth and acquisition of things in exchange for spiritual growth and maturity. &nbsp;To help others, I am willing to design and hold ceremonies so that we can help people recognize the transitions that we are going through as we move through time and life. &nbsp;</p>
<p>May we find a place where we are the peace keepers, knowledge keepers and elders so that we can be of service to others to obtain the same for themselves! &nbsp;</p>

This is a totally awesome post! I also feel like there are some missing milestones here. I do not feel like an adult just because I have 'come of age'. I know deep down I really do want ceremonies to guide me and for recognition from my community, in a spiritual way. Its missing, so how to replace that?

I figure the community should be the deciding factor if you reached one of these, as well as spirit, but what if the community doesnt know what is going on yet? I suppose then it falls to myself to start creating such ceremonies for myself and for others. That is a daunting task I think haha, where to start?

If you have any suggestions or ideas on the sorts of ceremonies we could create, id love to hear them so that I could have some basis for how to create my own here. I dont want to delay with this one, it feels pretty important.

I agree  that we need to reinstitute meaningful ceremonies to mark important milestones in our lives. The ceremonies that our modern culture does still hold on to have been over commercialized and devalued from their true meaning. 

Community should play a vital role in this ceremony building. We also must find a way to make this viable in the current techno - culture in which we live. Our definition of community has broadened beyond the circle of humans in our physical vicinity. 

But until we can reconcile this, We should create our own ceremonies. The question of where to begin: Just have fun. It is a celebration after all.

Samesies. Thanks for the detailed article, I kind of have my own types of ceremonies, but have also worked with shamans in Peru and it is an interest of mine. I think a big portion of ceremony is intention, certain drugs for example can be taken for recreation/abused or can be used for spiritual practice/healing.

Your post resonates with an experience I had in the summer of 2016 when my family and I volunteered for a week at the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana. We were invited to participate in a sweat lodge ceremony, which was a very moving experience. I was so grateful for being allowed to witness the event. Thank you for reminding us that focusing on spirituality is more important than on our usually chaotic physical reality.
