Mercy is definitely a huge aspect of veganism and one which I wholly support, but it is training the brain to think that way that is the problem. Our culture teaches us that eating meat is necessary for survival and so we have a strong connection to it. Mercy is a lovely way to approach this topic and you've warmed my heart to hear about your friend letting the sea creatures go back to the sea where they belong :)
