The Spring Weather is Bringing Weird Changes...

We had a drastic change of temperature which bought along some weird phenomenons.

Take a look at at this slow slide of the snow caused by cold nights and part of the day  being warm enough  to start the snow melting off the roof...

Each year at this time we get slides of snow coming off the roof (we call them avalanches) but never has it slide off like this and froze partway off. How Strange!

This was kind of an extreme amount of slide - usually the build up of snow will start to jut out a bit from the roof then break off but the conditions were just right that it just kept sliding and never broke off. This was over a few days.

Yes there does seem to be some extreme weather happening! We had the longest period of extreme cold in 83 years and I heard that is suppose to become more of the norm for this area.

Roof is fine but we put some extra boards on top of the hot top for the avalanche of snow coming off the roof and dented the hot tub cover with the weight of it.
I worry about the cat getting caught under one of the slides too!

It is quite fascinating to see this phenomena but I do worry about the cat getting caught under an avalanche of snow for when it breaks it usually happens very quickly but this time it had come close to the floor of the porch.
