It's a great idea, doubt any of the owners would want to hurt their profits or the profits of the delegators though. We can hope someone less focused on profits might be able to start a tend.

I didn't get any thing about this bit-bot thing but as you mention the blacklisting the account.i don't think this gonna stop soon,many steemians buy votes.how exactly it is gonna be handled.

That seems like a sound way to approach the issue to me.

This brings us back to the question of whether bid-bots should make you a profit or at least break even - or if they are merely promoting tools where you don’t loose all your money but just a bit.

I don't have any coding experience but it shouldn't be **that** hard to code something like that. Heck, why not take it a step further and **stop** the bidding rounds when the ROI is below a certain percentage. That way, **each** round will **always** be a good investment for the bidders. No matter if they bid small or large.

That's exactly what bid bots are. For the owners. They make **insane** amounts of money due to people **trying** to get a somewhat decent ROI.

Another thing I personally would want, is a limit to 1 bid for each round. I've seen dozens of people enter $10 SBD bids 2 or 3 times in the same rounds, for 2 or 3 different articles. If a limit was in place, that made it impossible for the same author to bid more than once, this would also **increase** the ROI chance for everyone.

And, if we're worried about authors getting alternative accounts. Why not limit not the **user** of the bot but the author of the article to get votes multiple times from the same rounds.

So if there's already a bid for an article by @hitmeasap, don't allow a second or a third article by the same user. No matter **who** the bidders are.

Thanks a lot Asher for sharing in detail article about "Bid Bots," I think by using these bot no any fruurful profit recieved and promotion as well. because ROI mostly negative or minor positive due wich profit will be lost. By using these bots. just u increased your Repotation Score but walket remain empty. Yes you are right there should be policy for max bid bot user. Thanks again @abh12345. Take care.

Yesterday was the only day I got a upvote that i can consider profitable while using upvote bots. I sent 0.5sbd to minnowbooster and it sent me upvote worth around $3.5, it didn't work later..lol, they might be fixing something at that time? otherwise I have never seen a profit for using bots. I wonder how things are who throws large SBD to bids, I have never tried that myself.

when i first started on steemit i dabbled in voting bots and then cooled off for a bit and just let things unfold organically. then the tracking website came out and as i looked at the ROI i was shocked to see so much - - - -!! everywhere negative ROI! I tried a few that night and only 1 gave me a positive ROI! That's huge. 

I hope some of the bot owners see your post - **you are spot on**!!

I love your white list idea. And think it would be help to reduce abuse maximum.

It's great that a lot of bot owners are putting some quality standards and banning plagiarism and shit posts. 

Some had upped their game though by complying with two short paragraphs and an image of a marvel character and posting 4-5 of these posts a day. They are what I call a golden shit post haha. 

I'm no angel and I boost my posts as well but I am proud of my posts (well most of the time) 

But I agree on the whole negative ROI. The bots should not accept anything that would make it a negative. Its not good for the owners and the clients for the long run.
