7 Things You And Your Friends Should Stop Doing Even Though You Guys Aren't Toxic

http://alden-tan.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/stop-doing.jpg

You guys aren't toxic or anything like that. There's no need to dish out the cliché that is "Eliminate toxic people in your life and start surrounding yourself with positive people."

These are positive people!

It's just perhaps, a few tweaks in behavior and lifestyle should be made.

1) Drinking all the damn time

Because there're healthier activities out there. You guys can exercise together, watch a movie, or go for a damn hike.

Besides, alcohol impedes and enables the mind a little too much.

2) Making decisions while drinking

With your inhibitions released, it's easy to honestly agree to anything and make dumb decisions.

The next day, you may feel that tinge of regret once the hangover sets in.

Decisions can be made like mature adults while sober. Period. Everyone would be on the same page then and there'd be no confusion.

3) Egging on a friend who's already drunk

They're not of sound mind to make a proper decision.

It's not cool to try to manipulate them that way. While more often than not, it could minor things that provoke fun only, it's honestly also a little childish and immature.

4) Dismissing them with a rhetoric or platitude

"Get over it."

"Move on."

"Snap out of it."

"It's not a big deal."

Whether your intentions are good or not, mere words alone can hurt or be misinterpreted wrongly. If you really care, listen.

5) Borrowing things from each other

Cause you guys have been so comfortable with each other that saying 'no' becomes an uncomfortable option.

As a result, tons of shit goes unreturned.

Someone is bound to get annoyed when they realize shit has gone missing, not that they're comfortable enough to even say so.

6) Talking about money, work, careers, cars and shit all the time

There're many other things to talk about.

These things merely set a precedent for a shallow life and blocks out more meaningful shit, like you know, doing things without expecting a reward. If that example blows your mind then buddy, you haven't been living.

7) Only showing up when you need something

It's a sneaky trap. Sometimes that 'something' is out of desperation, sometimes it's just something small.

But ultimately, someone needs to snap out of it and realize if the relationship is only based on transactions.

This trap can come forth any time it likes.

Posted from my blog with SteemPress : http://alden-tan.com/stop-doing/
