Introductions are best done with rollercoasters

Hey Steemit!

I am Don aka iD.  I just joined this awesome platform last week and just got introduced to the exciting world of cryptocurrency and blockchain a month or so ago... and I have dove right in.  I am very excited for all of the doors and windows we can open (and close) as we move forward with all of these initiatives.  If people knew that steemit was like facebook... but you get paid to contribute... how many people would still be on facebook?  I know right... there would still be billions and we would be confused over here... I jest (I hope...).

I am a Hiphoppa.  I emcee and stay active in Hip Hop Kulture in my city (and now on Steemit!!!).  I put on a festival in Edmonton every year called Hip Hop in the Park.  It has been going on for 10 years... we are super grassroots so you likely haven't heard of it... but we have somehow had acts from all over the world come to take part.   I plan on posting a bit on Hip Hop and cryptocurrency and the future!!!  And maybe share some music!

I am a carpenter / handyman that loves building things and fixing things... I might make a post about building a deck or a house... or a renovation job.  

I am a philosopher... I think very deeply, and want to definitely publish a few thought provoking articles up here.  I am an author (but the process is very slow)... Maybe steem generating will make me write more.  

I am pretty good with a yo yo.  I spin poi (fire dance).  I do lots of stuff.  I am into Hemp.  I don't smoke (anymore) but I think that plant is amazing.  I mostly press the seeds into oil and make protein powder.  I just got into business with a few friends and hope to make it a household name... we will definitely accept Bitcoin ;).

I am from Edmonton, Canada.  

I love how we assigned value to being a valuable member of a community and created a currency where it's integrity and value rests solely upon if we value being a valuable member of a community.  Chicken or egg much?  It is fascinating... and I think Steem is here to stay.

I came onto Steemit last week and stumbled upon the Steemit Rap Challenge (it was in week 3).  I love the fact that this exists and knew I had to take part next week (this week / week 4)... so I figured I would combine the rap challenge and my introduction post together to get 2 birds stoned at once (vegetarian / former stoner jokes)... SO... I have added my minute long rap to this introduction post for you to enjoy... The iMac photo booth program has its limitations... but I had to enter Steemit this way...

Hey Don, I think Steemit is much more than facebook with payments. It offers a platform to write well looking posts with little knowledge. It also offers much more space for creativity. And the community is gold, as you will see soon enough.

Nice rap video. I used to Rap about 15 years ago but haven't touched it since. Still listen to it, well the old stuff from the 90's mostly or Eminem.
