I just felt like to share with you this experience that works for me, it's very obvious that a lot of minnows don't earn much in their own posts no matter how many times they post in a day. 

Here i want to make it clear that earning good on steemit don't just lie within your own posts but comments too. Its pertinent to mention that i myself don't really earn much on my own posts owing to the fact that i am still building relationship with steemians anf whales here, but my comments on peoples posts gives me good earnings, thrice more than what i earn in two posts. 

Now i want to help you get the gist well, earning big upvotes on peoples post is not a question of how fast you are to comment, for your comment to be first on peoples post. No! A quality comment made 2days after a post can still jump every other comments and make it to first trend if they owner of the post finds it captivating and gives it a superb upvote. 

Here are things you need to avoid when commenting on people's post,

>It is a good post......... 

>I have followed you, please follow me back.....

>Visit my blog to upvote me..........


These can be seen as spamming which may force they owner of the post you commented on to flag you. 

To make a good comment that can earn you good upvotes, drive your mind towards the points of focus for that post, do not be in a haste to drop your comment, read thoroughly in between the lines of each and every point raised, digest the points very well, then make a well articulated contribution on the subject matter which the post bothers on, then drop. 

At first, you comment might be the hundred and seventh comment but never mind. The post owner may read and derive much joy in you comment contribution and finally decide to give you the highest upvote and when that happens, you will see you comment skyrocket automatically to first comment above every other comments made before your and with a very good upvote reward earnings. 

I want to practically state here that, once you discover this secret, start applying it and it begins to work for you, you may not want to make a post of yours again in your blog. Lol. 

Yea! I know a minnow might want to ask, "how sure are you that the owner of the post i commented on will see my own comment from down there?"

Its pertinent to mention that, every steemian no whether whale or not derives joy in seeing people's comments on their pots. Most times, they may not really appreciate those comments instantly, maybe due to immediate tight schedules but definitely, they do find time to read all and appreciate the one they love most with upvotes reward on or before the post payout. 

Let me now tell you, begging for upvotes in comments is a serious spam offence which you should desist from as a minnow. It lowers your reputation and paints your image black, putting you in peoples black list which makes it difficult for you to grow. You have to believe in yourself and what you can offer, make research and put you brains to work for better reward here on steemit. 

Do you know you know that one post can lift you to trending page on steemit even as a minnow? I bet you have no idea and perhaps thinks that trending post page is just for whales and high reputation steemian, that's a misconception. Trending posts are posts that has real good quality contents which had earned itself a lot of upvotes and big earnings, irrespective of reputation. 

The better one adjusts towards the kinda things he dishes out to the platform, the better it gets for him cos no one wants to spend time reading a d upvoting trash and junk posts.

Same things is what happens in comments too. You may be a minnow today and a whale tomorrow, its a choice that is up to you to make.
