Christian Craig steps in to save Honda

With the unfortunate run of injuries Honda HRC have suffered to both riders [**cole Seely**](https://steemit.com/motocross/@b0y2k/injury-update-cole-seely) and [**Ken Roczen**](https://steemit.com/motocross/@b0y2k/ken-roczen-setbacks) in the last few weeks they have been on the lookout for a stand in rider. It looks like the search is over as Cristain Craig has signed a deal to ride red for the next two rounds of the Monster Energy Supercross series.

Many long time readers will be familiar with Christian Craig as he briefly stood in to help Honda in Supercross last season and took the ride for the whole outdoor season also.

> "I'm super excited to be riding the CRF450R for the next few weekends, but I'm also extremely bummed for Cole and Ken. Cole and I are training and riding partners and kind of do everything together, so seeing him get hurt last weekend was really upsetting. I worked with the team for a couple supercross rounds last year and the entire summer, so we know each other well. I also have an idea of what settings I like on the bike. We’ll have a couple days to test before heading to Atlanta this weekend. I'm grateful for this opportunity and hoping Cole and I can get back to doing our normal routine soon."

I think this is a great move by Honda as Craig is a veteran rider on Hondas and knows exactly how to get the bike dialed in super quick. Plus, setup aside, he is a great starter and very skilled rider who can easily mix it up with the other riders in the pack.

This means he will ride under the Honda HRC tent for the next two races in Atlanta and Daytona but will return to his normal 250 ride for the first East/West Showdown of the season. At that point Honda HRC will re-evaluate their options going forward with their current injured riders.
