사랑의 징표와 아령.. 
상상을 초월한 진화의 결과물이랍니다.. 

1. 넥타이는 사랑의 징표?     
2. 아령이 교회의 종에서 유래했다고?    
  요즘의 상식으로는 좀.. 
  이해하기 힘들지만 
  상상을 초월한 진화의 결과물
  이랍니다.  ㅎㅎ

# 남자들이 넥타이를 매는 이유

를 여자들은 "화가 머리로 올라가지 
못하도록 하기 위해서"라고 말하는 
사람도 있지만.. 넥타이
는 여자들의 사랑하는 사람에 대한 사랑의
징표에서 출발했다고 합니다.

​옛날 오스만제국이 영토를 확장해 나가던 
시절  프랑스는 영국과 크로아티아와 함께 
손잡고 오스만 제국을 상대로 전쟁을 했는데  
어느날 전쟁터로 나가는 크로아티아
병사들이 목에 빨간 천을 두른 것을 
본 루이 14세가 "이게 뭔가?" 하고 묻자 
병사는 "네, 크로아트입니다!"라고 
대답했습니다.   
병사는 그저 '크로아티아인입니다.'라고
대답했지만 
루이 14세는 빨간천을 '크로바트'로 잘못 
알아 듣곤  자신도 그와 비슷하게 
목에 둘렀답니다.  
실제로 빨깐천은 크로아티아 여인들의 
사랑의 징표로써 무사히 돌아오라는 
염원이 담긴 것이였는데..   
프랑스에서는 모두 루이 14세를 따라하면서 
하나의 패션 장식이 되었답니다.

## 사랑의 징표로 둘렀던 천을

지금의 넥타이형태로 만든 사람은 영국의 
조지 브루멜로써.. 
그는 쉽게 매었다 풀수 있는 방법을 생각하다 
지금과 같은 형태를 고안했는데 
그 독특한 방법은 선풍적인 인기를 끌어 
처음엔 돈을 받고 가르쳐 
주었다고 합니다. ㅎㅎ

초창기에는 
'포 인 핸드 타이(Four in Hand Tie)'란 
이름으로 유행했는데   
'포 인 핸드'란 '네마리의 말이 끄는 마차'란 
뜻으로 마차를 모는 마부들이 주로 매었으며​
매듭에서 아래쪽 끝까지 손 4개정도의 
길이가 되게 매었기 때문이라고 하네요!  
ㅎㅎ

그렇게 영국에서 패션으로 자리잡은 
넥타이는 미국으로 건너가면서 
나비모양으로도 유행하게되었는데 
링컨대통령이 그렇게 매면서 널리 
퍼졌다고 합니다.

# ​근육을 키우는 운동기구 중

가장 흔한 것이 아령으로서 요즘엔 왠만한 
가정집에서도 볼수 있지요! 
서양에서는 '덤벨(DumbBell)'이라고 하며 
아주 큰것은 '바벨(Bar Bell)'이라고 하니 
전부 종을 의미하는 벨이 들어갑니다. 
우리말 아.령.은 벙어리를 뜻하는 '덤(Dumb)'을 
벙어리 啞(아)자로,종을 뜻하는 '벨(Bell)'을 
방울 鈴(령)자로 번역해서 
만들어졌다고 합니다.

​다 같이 소리를 내는 종이지만 우리나라의 
종은 밖에서 두드려 소리를 내는 반면  
서양의 종은 안에 달린 추로 때려서 
소리를 내지요!  
아무리 커도 밖에서 두드리는 법은 
절대로 없으니.. 
성당에서는 안쪽 추에 줄을 달아 밑에서 
잡아당겨 안쪽에서 때려 소리를
냅니다.​

# 아령이 종에서 유래했다는​

​설은 여러가지가 있는데요..   
첫번째로는 옛날 파리의 노트르담 대 성당에선 
종이 무척이나 커서 종지기는 힘이 좋아야 
했으며 그래서 평소에 창고에 있던 ​커다란
종을 들고 운동을 했던데에서 
생겨났다고 합니다.

두번째로는 중세시대의 기사(Knight)들은 
전쟁에 대비해 항상 체력단련을 했는데 
무거운 쇠로 만든 기구를 찾다보니 
종을 사용하게 되었답니다.  
소리가 나지 않게 하기 위해 안의 추를 떼어 
내고 들기 좋게 손잡이를 붙이다 보니..  
서양식 아.령.인 '케틀벨(Kettle Bell)'이 
되었다가 좀더 발전하여 우리가 사용하는 
현재의 모양으로 되었다고 ​하네요!  ㅎ
