 <p>It is pretty rare that I post more than once or twice in a day. &nbsp;Especially now that I have a fitness tracker and I am doing Actifit posts with this account. &nbsp;I saw a news story today that I just knew I had to share though.</p><p>I quickly went to the SportsTalk tags to see if anyone else has posted about this incident in the baseball section. &nbsp;Not immediately seeing any, I decided to head over to Dlike and share this.&nbsp;</p><p>Make sure you follow the link to the original article and watch the small video concerning the incident. &nbsp;The fact that it was major league players involved is pretty sad. &nbsp;I would have thought the latest incident in the NFL that had a player hitting another one with his helmet would be enough of a heads up with athletes around the world.</p><p>Several years ago we had an altercation at one of our fireworks festivals where a guy almost beat another man to death with a baseball bat. &nbsp;If you don't think that it is a deadly weapon, you are surely mistaken. &nbsp;</p><p>To be fair, I think the player didn't initially realize what he was doing but by then it was too late, he was fully committed to the swing. &nbsp;If you watch the video there is a moment of hesitation where I think he realized oh crap I am swinging my bat at the catcher.&nbsp;</p><p>Like I said, after that one connected he was totally committed and the subsequent swings are fully on him, no excuses. &nbsp;He needs to take absolute responsibility for this and I feel that there should be some pretty harsh penalties. &nbsp;</p><p>I get it, the pitcher threw the ball behind you. &nbsp;That's fine, you throw down your bat and batting helmet and charge the mound. &nbsp;Divesting yourself of the potentially deadly weapons should be the first move you make though.</p><p>What do you think of this incident? &nbsp;How strict do you think the penalty should be? &nbsp;Did you see the moment of hesitation or am I just imagining things?</p><p>Let me know in the comments!</p>
