Hello! This is your neighbor, @carrotcake. 
Today, I will cover my logic behind creating illustration for @creativecyrpto's article "Designing with Volatility".

This was my initial idea of the illustration: Golden Gate Bridge and a person taking picture with smartphone camera. What does it have to do with "volatility" or "design"? I have no idea. 
I tossed it away quickly, and came up with a different idea.

Bunch of pointy pencils.... or mountain range? 
As I went through the sketches, I realized that I've been struggling with this illustration lot more than I thought.

Finally, this is the initial phase of the finished illustration. 
The Pawn represents us, the vulnerable individuals in this fast-paced market. 
The pawn is placed random spot to show that we don't know where we are going.
