Toddler art | First attempt to create art using masking fluid and watercolour paint

## A first attempt to create art with masking fluid
I wanted to try something out with masking fluid for a new artwork. And I thought it would be nice to let my daughter (@cutie-pie) be the first to try something. The artwork above is the end result. In the pictures below I'll explain what we made together.

## Hearts, love and a signature with masking fluid
The idea of masking fluid is to keep the white spots on your paper when you're painting. I wanted to make a new piece of art myself, but I never used the fluid before, so I decided to first get comfortable with the fluid. I used a big A3 size paper that cutie-pie always uses when she's painting something. I took the bottle of masking fluid and a thing brush to paint hearts on the paper. As she's only 2,5 years old, she usually just keeps brushing the paint on the paper, and I thought this would give a cool effect on the painting. And this way I could try out how easy it is to remove the masking fluid afterwards without ruining an artwork that I spend many hours working on. And this way she can create something new for the first time too. The picture above was taken in the evening because the fluid had to dry first before you start painting.

## I let her pick the colours
I showed her how I coloured two hearts with different colours, and then let her pick the colours, so she could repeat what I did. As you can see she used a lot of colours, and let me tell you she enjoyed id. She even clapped her hands and said: " This is fun " really loud and excited, haha.

## Here you see the result while the paint was still wet
We tried to cover the whole piece of paper, and I painted the sides a bit to fill up the white spots. Now it was time to dry. So we let it be over night, and this morning it was time to try out the removal of the masking fluid. I watched a few videos on the internet, and they said it was easy to remove and you can use an eraser or your hands, but also a little piece of masking fluid that dried out, so it will stick on that part. I decided to use the eraser for it. And it was quite easy. It came of quite easy and below you see the end result once again.
