As an author with 10 books published on Amazon, iBooks and Kindle, I do have an eye for spotting products or platforms dedicated to writers. I won't go into details, but before self-publishing on all the above platforms I did try many other small (or not so small) outlets, from Smashowrds to Lulu. 

So, when I heard about Authorship, I clicked.

Their [website](http://authorship.com) is a bit complicated and it does require some time to go through. But the problems they try to solve are correctly identified.

In short, Authorship aims to create a platform for _writers_, _publishers_ and _translators_. As far as I understand, the glue of the platform will be this token they are preparing to launch.

As usual, here are the most important blurbs:

* Ethereum based token

* no percentage of the ICO will go to the developers (that's a plus)

* 20% of the ICO will be distributed to the first 100,000 authors to join the platform, on a monthly basis

* 80% of the ICO will be distributed to investors, proportionally with their contribution, one week after the ICO end

* ICO cap: 100 millions tokens distributed for $15 millions

* value of ATS (the authorship token) will be determined after the ICO by dividing the crowdfunded amount to 100 millions

* ICO starts in 24 days (August 15) and will last 2 weeks

These are the most important points from an ICO perspective, but if you want to know more about the platform and how things will actually work once the token is out there, have a look at their  [website](http://authorship.com).

Will certainly keep an eye on this one.
