Her goal was simple, really.  Make someone feel good today. It ends with her saving the world.

Ok, that's a bit of an overstatement. Only thousands of people in the metro were actually saved. Nope, Joy is not a spy nor a scientist nor a politician. 

Her saving people wasn't a result of one grand act. She's simply unnaturally positive and genuinely, sometimes annoyingly, kind.

She loves leaving notes everywhere.

It was a habit she started on her second year in the university. Enduring an unbearably boring and difficult advanced calculus class from a notoriously terror professor, there would be days she'd think of dropping the subject and just enroll again the next semester under a different professor. It was one of those days when she decided to psych herself up.

*"This too shall pass, and someday when you're a hotshot professional doing exciting stuff, you'd be thanking your past-self for DERIVING the conclusion to push your LIMITS. After all, you did SIN up for it."*

The profound words were on a sticky note, which she later decided to leave on her table.

The next day, her note was still there, with a few words added:

*"Hilarious, made my day lol!"*

And that was the beginning of an era.

She left notes everywhere, whenever able.  Mostly they are encouraging words for herself that she felt maybe of use to others, too. 

She fails an exam, she writes:

*"It isn't just about scores and grades. The learning gained is what matters more. But still, don't forget to compute your running grade for the class, we need to pass after all."*

On the way to a job interview she writes:

*"It is ok to be nervous. If you aren't, it can mean you don't want it enough. It is ok to be nervous, but remember how awesome you are and what you can bring on the table. The company would be lucky to have you."*

This note was left on the train.

You get the picture. 
 
Ok, going back to the part where thousands of lives were saved.

Joy has been thinking of break ups these days, a depressing thought. She takes comfort to this:

*"Whenever I watch a romantic movie, see couples kiss and make up, or simply listen to a love song, I smile and feel good because I know love still works, if not yet for me, at least for others.*
 
*There may be many stories that I thought I have the lead role, when I am infact a supporting cast. I know my story is being written still, with my own casts and my own happy ending. Someday.*

*Stay patient. Life is beautiful!"*

She left the note on the bench she sat on while waiting for her train. The same bench that, a broken-hearted man with an access to bombs he fully intended to blow up in various train stations the day after. 

He never did.
